Having a presence on the internet is one thing, but being found is a completely different story. There are certain elements in the formula for a successful real estate web site. This formula consists of: Web Site, Traffic, Plan of Action and Future Business.

Web Site

Having a web site on the web is just the beginning. It doesn’t matter if it’s the best web site in the world, what only matters is that it is getting the point across to your visitors. REMEMBER: Content is Key. Make sure that the content on each page is relevant to the point you want to get across. Having good relevant content is crucial in search engine rankings.

Traffic

Imagine that you have printed up 1000 brochures. Distributing your brochures is the next step in order to have someone look at them. The same goes for a web site. If your site isn’t “distributed” properly, then how will visitors see it? Each day potential leads use search engines such as Google to find property. There are currently three search engines being used by consumers; Yahoo!, MSN (Live) and Google. If they were to type in “your city real estate” would they find you within the first three pages? If not, you have a couple of options. Option one; you can use Pay-Per-Click advertising. PPC is targeted advertising where you pay only if someone clicks on an ad to your site as opposed to paying for the number of impressions your ad gets. Option two; get your web site optimized. Optimization is the process of “tweaking” your web site for better search engine results.

Plan of Action

Now that you are getting web traffic, what will they do on your site? Let’s say that they find a piece of land that they are interested in. What then?

  • Fill out this form for more information
  • Signup to receive alerts of new properties
  • Etc.

Future Business

When you put the formula altogether, you will get future business. This in turn, can lead to more future business (word of mouth, etc.).

No matter how you try to add it up just remember:

Web Site + Traffic + Plan of Action = Future Business
